Cholesterol is a soft, waxy substance produced by the liver and found among the the lipids in the bloodstream. It is essential to every cell in the body. Cholesterol is an important part of a healthy body. It is used to form cell membrances and also used to perform other fuctions. Very high levels of cholesterol in the blood may cause a condition known as Hypercholesterolaemia and that conditions may cause to heart attack. cholesterol has two types. One is considered "good" the other "bad." The bad cholesterol is known as Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL). The good cholesterol is the High Density Lipoprotein (HDL).

Cholesterol is a fatlike, steroid alcohol and Cholesterol has chemical structure C27-H45-OH. Cholesterol usually found in foodstuffs such as include animal fats and oils, milk, and yolk of egg. Cholesterol is normally found in the blood and it does not cause any disease when present in normal amounts. Cholesterol is also present in the bile, blood, brain tissue, liver, kidneys and the adrenal glands.

Causes of Cholesterol

  • If excess lipids or fatty substances are in your blood, then it may caused condition known as Hyperlipidemia. Hyperlipidemia is an important risk factor to cause heart disease.
  • If you are eating too much saturated fat, then it may also cause high cholesterol.
  • If you will drink alcohol in excess, then it may also cause cholesterol.
  • If you are taking certain drugs, such as include avandia, Rosiglitazone, Mycophenolate, CellCept, Amprenavir. The following drugs are some of the possible causes of Cholesterol as a symptom.

Home Remedies for Cholesterol

  • You should drink 2 cups of ingredients in a day. Mix all ingredients and then boil. Ingredients such as include 1 tsp. of roasted chicory root, 1 tsp. of lime flowers, ½ tsp. of fenugreek seeds, ½ tsp. of ginger rhizome and 1 quart of water.
  • You can also take two teaspoon of half onion juice and half honey once a day for 1-2 weeks.
  • You must drink 8-12 glass of ionised water daily.
  • You can used onion juice to reduces cholesterol and onion juice will work as a tonic for nervous system. It cleans blood, helps digestive system, cures insomnia and regulates the heart action.
  • Take four leaves of Basil and two leaves of Neem (Margosa) and then grind them with four spoons of water. After mixing you should take this ground mixture empty stomach with a glass of water.
  • You should eat grapes, because grapes and their products have a compound that is used to lowers cholesterol significantly. So you should increase your intake of grapes, grape juice and wine to decrease your cholesterol level.
  • If you are drinking coriander water regular then it helps in lowering the blood cholesterol.
  • Regular exercise also plays an important role in lowering the bad cholesterol and raising the good cholesterol levels.
