Natural Home Remedies For Cough

Coughing is an important way to keep your throat and airways clear. If you have cough, by which you can remove foreign material or mucus from the lungs and throat. Cough has two types, one is chesty and the other is dry. A chesty cough is defind by the presence of mucus or phlegm on the chest means producing phlegm or mucous. In case of chesty cough as the mucus needs to be moved from the chest. But in a dry cough there is no benefit to coughing. Coughing is a healthy and important reflex that helps clear the airways in the throat and chest. Chesty cough are further divided into productive and non-productive. The productive cough means the presence of the mucus on the chest, but in case of non-productive cough the mucus is not being moved from the chest. Coughs can be either acute coughs, chronic cough. Acute cough usually begin suddenly. Acute cough is mostly due to a cold, flu, or sinus infection. Chronic coughs last longer than two to three weeks. Causes of Cough

  • The major cause of chronic cough is smoking. Smoking may cause a cough that doesn't go away. If you have cough, then you need to stop. Consult with your doctor about using nicotine patches, gum, inhaler or nasal spray and tell to your doctor about the method you are using to stop smoking.
  • If you have some diseases such as include asthma, allergies means hay fever, it may also cause cough.
  • If you have fungal infections such as include aspergillosis, histoplasmosis, and cryptococcoses. It may also cause cough and mostly cough are caused by respiratory infections.
  • If you are eating heavy foods and high fat such as include white bread, meat, sugar, porridge, puddings, and pies during the colder months of the year. It may also cause cough and it also due to wrong feeding habits.

Home Remedies for Cough

  • you can get relief from cough by mixing 3 tablespoon of lemon juice, 1 cup honey, and 1/4 cup warm water and then you should take this mixture two teaspoons daily.
  • You should be drink hot milk with honey at bedtime.
  • You can also take half a teaspoon of fresh turmeric powder, mixed in 30ml. of warm milk and you should take two times daily.
  • The excellent remedy for coughs and cold is that by extracted juice of ginger with honey and you should take three or four times a day.
  • You should take 1-2 gm powder of equal parts of black pepper (kali mirch) long pepper (pippali) and dry ginger (sonth) with honey, 2-3 times a day.
  • You can also eat dates with maltose in enough water. In which you will boil 20 red dates with 60 grams maltose in enough water and then you should eat once a day.
  • You should avoid foods that increase the production of mucus, such as include dairy products, meat and fried foods.
  • Mix 8-10 tablespoons of coconut milk with 1 tablespoon poppy seeds and 1 tablespoon of pure honey. You should take this every night before going to bed.
  • You shuold also take Garlic-and-onion chicken soup. Hot, spicy chicken soup is good for colds and flu. You should use lots of garlic and onions. Also, use lot of vegetables, and some ginger and hot red pepper. It is tasty and good medicine.
  • If you have cough, throat and chest pain, dry mouth and lips, very thristy then you should take bryonia.
  • You should take Vitamin C to boost immune system and increase the number of white blood cells.
